Apple Readings
"Apple Readings", artist's mediations, tea with tasting of apple jam in the public program of Alla Mirovskaya's exhibition "A Branch Which is Named After".
Spreading apple trees in Konkovo, old lindens, spruces and larches of the Neskuchny Sad, as well as Sokolniki Park, will become our species companions in reading the books What Plants Think About by Stefano Mancuso, Pulsating Matter by Jane Bennet, The Secret Life of Trees by Peter Wolleben .
Three reading meetings are planned on:
July 27 in the Apple Garden in Konkovo, August 10 in Neskuchny Sad, and August 24 in Sokolniki Park. Meetings will be held in the evening, from 19:00 to 21:00.
Together we will read the chapters from the books and discuss the important thoughts of their authors, which excite the mind and shift the usual coordinate system between man and plants.

The artist will tell how the Konkovo district and the concept of the “garden city” by utopian sociologist Ebenezer Howard are connected, why she chose foil for making memorable “casts” of trees, how she managed to determine the real age of the Apple Garden in Konkovo, as well as many other interesting points, revealed to her during the research project.
There will be three mediations - July 24, August 7 and 21.
The exhibition "A Branch Which is Named After" takes place in Tsekh Otdelki at Fabrika from July 15 to August 28, and ends with a tea party and tasting of apple jam.
